First Privately owned museum in Russia is Faberge Museum. Originally the Palace was built in 1790 for one of the Russian noble family. Later on in 1846 the Palace was commissioned by count Shuvalov and since that time till nowadays is known as Shuvalovsky Palace.
After 7 year restoration period the Palace became the first privately owned museum in Russia that housed the largest collection of Faberge items in the world. Here on display one can see the unique collection of semiprecious jewelry masterpieces such as world famous Faberge eggs, amazing porcelain dinning sets and other masterpieces ever designed in Faberge workshops.
